“Broken On All Sides: Race, Mass Incarceration & New Visions for Criminal Justice in the U.S.”
Independent filmmaker Matthew Pillischer will present his newly released documentary exploring the intersection of race and poverty within the criminal justice system.
Just as Michelle Alexander examines these issues in her book “The New Jim Crow,” Pillischer provides a compelling analysis of the system’s structural inequities, concludes that it is surely broken, and offers ideas for change.
The Undoing Racism Committee at UUCM is thrilled that Pillischer will introduce his film, and will facilitate a discussion after the screening. Please spread the word and join us for a pre-screen reception at 6:30!
