Girl Rising Screening
Come support Montclair High School's Girls Learn International & National Organization for Women clubs at our screening of "Girl Rising". "Girl Rising" is a documentary film that follows 9 girls in developing countries and focuses on the vital role of education in empowering them to overcome social and political obstacles. Directed by oscar nominee Richard E. Robbins, this film offers a powerful message about the struggles faced by girls in impoverished communities around the world. The film deals with issues like slavery, child marriage, rape, and human trafficking, and is recommended for ages 10+ Tickets can be purchased at the door on a sliding scale, with a suggested donation of $5. All proceeds go to the Tembea Girls High School in Kaijado, Kenya.
