Glen Ridge Antiques Show

THE 68TH GLEN RIDGE ANTIQUE SHOW

The 68th Annual Glen Ridge Antiques Show and sale is Friday January 31, continuing Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014. The time-honored showcase for 28 dealers of country and formal antiques and accessories welcomes visitors to its fundraiser for agencies of need in Essex County and other nearby towns.

Visitors will find many varieties of antiques on display: antiquarian books, porcelains, botanical prints, fine and vintage jewelry, art pottery and tiles, primitives, whimsies and more. You may find a piece of furniture to fit that neglected corner or special art for your wall to enhance the furniture below. Over 100 volunteers of the church work to make the church halls a welcoming sight, from Chapel admission entrance to the warm and aromatic kitchen and Pantry Corner, and to prepare and serve delicious meals and baked goods.

A popular verbal Appraisal service for $4 per portable item will be given by Rick Nerger of Newfoundland, NJ, on both Friday and Saturday from 1-4pm. This show, a highlight of the winter season in Essex County, brings a rare chance to see antique collections in one convenient location of Glen Ridge and to share time with knowledgeable dealers from four states and learn more about life 'back in the day'.

Please make a plan with friends to save time on Jan. 31 or Feb. 1 to help the Women's Assn. of the church ease the work of many local agencies supporting others. Designers, collectors, and browsers will be happy in the relaxed and friendly setting and will be able to visit the show many times for the one admission fee of $7, (or $5 for Seniors or with a show card).  Show hours are Friday, 10am to 9pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm. The church is located at 195 Ridgewood Avenue at Clark St, (only two blocks from Bloomfield Avenue, train station and NJT buses).
