Happily Ever After Film Festival

Montclair Public Library film series
to feature "happily ever after" comedies in December

Montclair Public Library
will show "happily ever after" comedies during its film series this December.
The movies will run at 1 p.m. on December 4, 11 and 18

in the library auditorium. Films to be shown in December include:

42
Street
- Starring Ruby Keeler and Dick
Powell
Meet a dewy-eyed ingenue, a gee-whiz tenor,
stuck-up stars and brassy blondes. They are all denizens of 42 Street, belting
out ageless songs and tapping out sensational numbers. The show-stopping numbers
(Shuffle Off to Buffalo, You're Getting to Be a Habit with Me, and 42nd Street)
still dazzle.

Libeled Lady - Starring Jean Harlow, William
Powell, Myrna Loy, and Spencer Tracy

This screw-ball romantic comedy was
nominated for a Best Picture Oscar®. It all starts when society-diva Loy slaps
newsman Tracy with a libel suit. Tracy enlists fiancee Harlow and
down-on-his-luck Powell in a counter maneuver involving a rigged marriage,
fisticuffs, broken promises and hearts, and eventually, true love for
all.

Top Hat - Starring Fred Astaire and
Ginger Rogers

Perhaps the best remembered of the 10
Astaire-Rogers musicals, Top Hat has it all: Art Deco elegance, a whimsical
storyline, loopy support from skilled farceurs and the ideal chemistry of the
two leads cheek-to-cheeking to Irving Berlin's Finest Film score.

The
film series is free and open to the public, and the library is handicapped

accessible. For more information on this event and the library calendar, please
