Human Rights Day Panel and Exhibits, MHS Girls Learn

Celebrate Human Rights Day this Friday, December 13th, from 6:00-8:30 pm at Montclair High School (100 Chestnut St.) with GLI. We will have an exhibit highlighting various human rights open at 6 and begin a panel discussion in the LGI (Large Group Instruction room, don't worry there will be signs) between local human rights activists at 7. The panel will feature Patricia Devine-Harms, who works with the Junior Leagues of NJ State Public Affairs Committee and the NJ Coalition Against Human Trafficking, Eugenie Mukeshimana, the founder and Executive Director of the Genocide Survivors Support Network, and Eleanor Solo, a representative from the United Nations.

Admission is free! (but donations are appreciated)

At the event we will be selling baked goods as well as merchandise from Action India, including beautiful bangles, necklaces, and headbands. The jewelry is made by girls from a GLI partner school in India. Half the proceeds go back to them and the other half goes to our GLI chapter's partner school, the Tambea High School in Kenya. Bangles start at $2 and are great, meaningful gifts for the holidays!
