Ursula Pawel, who was born in Dusseldorf, shares her personal experiences of life in Germany after the Nazis seized power in 1933. She spent three years in labor and concentration camps and undertook a 500 mile bicycle trek to locate her mother after liberation. In her work, My Child is Back!, Pawel relates her experiences in Germany from her birth in 1926 to the start of a new life in the US after World War II.
