Nationally renowned cancer researcher Dr. David McCormick will discuss “Cell Phones and Cancer Risk: What Do We Really Know?” at Montclair State University’s Kasser Theater at 8pm on Tuesday, October 1, 2013.

Dr. McCormick will explain the hotly debated potential link between cell phone use and cancer. A leading expert in the fields of toxicology, carcinogenesis, cancer biology, and preclinical drug development, Dr. McCormick will shed light on cancer’s mysterious origins and sensationalized misconceptions.

Dr. McCormick is a professor of biology at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) and the Senior Vice President and Director of the organization’s Research Institute.

The lecture is part of the Margaret and Herman Sokol Science Lecture Series at Montclair State, which was established to help the campus and surrounding communities garner a greater appreciation and expanded knowledge of important scientific issues. Speakers of national and international renown are invited to spend a day at Montclair State University meeting with faculty and students, guest lecturing in a class, and conducting an evening lecture open to the public.
