My Funny Valentine Films

On Wednesdays at 1 p.m. throughout February, the Montclair Public Library will host its monthly Film Festival. This February, the library is pleased to present romantic comedies.
Something’s Gotta Give (Feburary 5)—Starring Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson. A playboy, about to be a senior citizen with a taste for young women, falls in love with an accomplished woman who is closer to his own age. (2003 - 128 minutes)
North by Northwest (February 12)—Starring Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint. Cary Grant teams with director Alfred Hitchcock for the fourth and final time in the superlative espionage caper judged one of the American Film Institute’s Top 100 American Films. (1959 - 136 minutes)
Broadway Danny Rose (February 19)—Starring Woody Allen and Mia Farrow. Nominated for two Academy Awards® this film is a zany tribute to New York lounge acts and the New York Times called it “one of [Allen’s] very best.” (1984 - 84 minutes)
My Man Godfrey (February 26)—Starring William Powell and Carole Lombard. One of the top screwball comedies of all time, My Man Godfrey is a hilarious look at a wealthy New York family in the 1930s. This film was the first to receive Oscar® nominations in all four acting categories. (1936 – 93 minutes)
