New Jersey Peace Action hosts its 56th Annual Soup Luncheon
New Jersey Peace Action (NJPA) hosts its 56th Annual Soup Luncheon on Saturday, November 16, at Bloomfield High School in Bloomfield, NJ. Doors open at 11:45 for an hour of socializing and browsing the exciting Silent Auction display and the peace-oriented boutique. An excellent array of delicious homemade soups and desserts, as well as tasty breads and cheeses fills the air with great aromas, and are never disappointing! The transformative work of The Combat Paper Project will be presented by five military veterans who have served in Vietnam, Somalia and Iraq. The veterans will bring to us a new and powerful understanding of war memories and how those memories impact on their lives. This exciting day will be rounded out with the rousing music of local musician and songwriter Spook Handy and the honoring of NJPA’s Peace Site of the year, the First Presbyterian Church of Dover, New Jersey.
