NJ Freeze & Push To Walk Disabled Ice Hockey Demo @ Floyd Hall Arena

LITTLE FALLS, NJ- On Saturday July 20th at 10:30 AM the New Jersey Freeze Sled Hockey Team will be partnering with the Push To Walk organization to put on a sled hockey demonstration at Floyd Hall Arena. In this demo we will be showing how the sport is played while “rookies” to the sport both disabled and able-bodied alike will be able to try out the sport for themselves.

The NJ Freeze Sled Hockey Team is based out of Randolph while the Push To Walk organization is out of Riverdale. This event is a culmination of a week’s worth of activities as part of Push To Walk’s “Summer Boot Camp” as they help individuals rehabilitate from spinal injuries. Sled hockey is a sport that is played primarily by individuals with disabilities where players sit on a sled equipped with two skates at the bottom and use two sticks with ice picks at the bottom to propel themselves along the ice.

We would love for you to help us spread the word as well as try this sport out for yourself as we continue to get disabled sports out into the mainstream. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at 973-787-7371 or Push To Walk’s Stephanie Lajam at Slajam@pushtowalknj.org
