Promise Walk for Preeclampsia, Cranford Area NJ

The Cranford area NJ Promise Walk for
Preeclampsia will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Oak Ridge Park, 136 Oak
Ridge Road, Clark, NJ 07066, rain or shine. You might be asking yourself,  "What is Preeclampsia?"
Preeclampsia is a life-threatening disorder that occurs only during pregnancy
and the postpartum period. Preeclampsia is most often characterized by a rapid
rise in blood pressure that can lead to seizure, stroke, multiple organ failure
and death of the mother and/or baby. Thousands of women and babies die or get
very sick each year from this dangerous condition.

The Cranford area NJ Promise Walk is set
up to help spread awareness of this disorder to prevent more fatalities and
sicknesses to mothers and their newborn children.

Registration for the Cranford area Promise
Walk opens at 10:00 am, and the opening ceremony begins at approximately10:45
am. This walk is a 2.5 mile paved path which is stroller friendly! Free
refreshments will be provided along with the company of friendly individuals
who are all in attendance to help support this cause. At the end of the walk,
there will be a basket auction that will have a variety of unique prizes. Come
out and help spread awareness of Preeclampsia! Together, we can help to create
a world where preeclampsia and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy no longer
threaten the lives of mothers and babies. Are you willing to take the next
step?!
