ROCK ON: Intro to rock climbing

With Americans across the country ditching their newfound gym routines just months after making their New Year’s resolutions, it’s time to discover alternative exercise pursuits. That’s where activities like indoor rock climbing come in.

The Montclair Public Library will present an introduction to indoor rock climbing featuring Barbara Lawrence of the New Jersey Rock Gym. Lawrence is a certified climbing wall instructor and has traveled the country as an expert.

During the program, Lawrence will show a safety video along with a presentation on rock climbing. She will discuss equipment usage, including a hands-on demonstration of how to put on a harness and tie-in with two different knots. This lesson is recommended for anyone looking to explore a new, energizing route to fitness.
