Synagogues Honor Sadness: Tisha B'Av Meditative Chanting

The community is invited to Bnai Keshet in Montclair for a joint service with Temple Ner Tamid in observance of the saddest day in Jewish history--a fast day commemorating the destruction of the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem within 655 years of each other.  The alternative Maariv Service with meditative chanting and the opportunity to experience the reading of Lamentations will honor other tragedies in Jewish history as well, including Spain’s expulsion of Jews in 1492.

Bnai Keshet (www.bnaikeshet.org) is a Reconstructionist synagogue serving the Greater Essex area. The synagogue is located at 99 So. Fullerton, Montclair. 973.746.4889 bnaikeshet@bnaikeshet.org
