Third Sunday Poets at Watchung Booksellers - Laura Freedgood and Carole Stone



Please join us at Watchung Booksellers for our upcoming Third Sunday Poets event, featuring Laura Freedgood and Carole Stone!

Laura Freedgood's third book of poems, What I Would Paint If I Could, was released in December 2012 by Finishing Line Press. Her two previous books include Slant of the Heart and Weather Report. Her work appears in Descant, Hawai'i Pacific Review, Euphony, Journal of New Jersey poets, and many more. Nominated for the Puschcart Prize, she was also awarded a three-year poetry grant from the City University of New York, where she worked as an Assistant Professor until 2010. Currently retired, she spends her time pursuing her two passions: poetry and dance.

Carole Stone is the author of two books of poetry and seven chapter books, as well as many critical essays on writers, among them George Eliot, Edna St. Vincent Millay, and Sylvia Plath. A recipient of fellowships from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and residencies at Hawthornden Castle International Retreat for Writers in Scotland and Chateau de Lavigny in Switzerland, she is Professor of English Emerita at Montclair State University. Carole divides her time between New Jersey and East Hampton, NY.
