With The Author: Jan-Philipp Sendker, "The Well-Tempered Heart"

Jan-Philipp Sendker will be at Montclair Public Library on Thursday, February 6 at 2 p.m. to read from his new book, The Well-Tempered Heart. A sequel to The Art of Hearing Heartbeats, his latest novel continues the epic story of a daughter’s quest for her father in 20th century Burma.
Author of the Indies Choice Honor Award-winning “The Art of Hearing Heartbeats,” Sendker’s characters have been so realistic that fans write him to find out if he is writing about himself (he is not). Library Journal calls his writing “sweetly tragic,” and Kirkus says fans of “Nicholas Sparks and/or Elizabeth Gilbert should eat this up.”
With the Author is a library sponsored series promoting authors with the intent of fostering a love of reading and a love of literature. At the event, Sendker will talk about his latest book, answer questions from the audience and sign books. Copies of his books will be available for purchasing, courtesy of Watchung Booksellers.
This event is free and open to the public, and the library is handicapped accessible. For more information on this event and the library calendar, please visit www.montclairlibrary.org or call 973-744-0500 ext. 2235.
