With the Author: Poet Sandra Duguid

The Montclair Public Library’s With The Author series presents Sandra Duguid, Ph.D., who will read from her recently published book of poetry, “Pails Scrubbed Silver.”
Duguid, who was awarded a Fellowship in Poetry from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, was invited to read her poetry at the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival.  Her esteemed career included teaching literature, composition,  and creative writing at colleges in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area including Caldwell College.  Her poetry has appeared in Journal of New Jersey Poets and America.
“In these poems we encounter a spirit that is diffident and kind, compassionate and loving, a spirit that years for the unvarnished truth, a spirit that is the antithesis of the vulgarity of a modern world that’s fabulously wealthy technologically and materially but spiritually bankrupt.  Sandra Duguid also evokes the gritty spirit of New Jersey…”  Sander Zulauf, former editor of the Journal of New Jersey Poets and poet laureate of the Diocese of Newark.
