Gallery Loupe Joins Ovarian Cancer Fight

Church Street gallery commissions limited edition brooch.

Gallery Loupe in Montclair is once again supporting the Mathilda Fund, a project dedicated to fighting and curing ovarian cancer.

The art jewelry gallery, located at 50 Church St., will host "In the Loupe for a Cure," on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For the third year, Gallery Loupe has commissioned a limited edition brooch, which will be available exclusively at the gallery. This year's brooch was designed by artists Erin Gardner and Meg Drinkwater of The Opulent Project design studio based in Portland, Oregon.

The silver brooch measures 1 1/4" in diameter and will be sold for $195.

A portion of proceeds from all sales on Oct. 5 will also go to the fund.

The Mathilda Fund was founded by New Jersey resident Jane Rubin, a two-time cancer survivor and author of Almost a Princess. The fund is named after her paternal great grandmother who is believed to have died of ovarian/breast cancer around the age of 40.
