New Date: Third Annual Wrap and Roll Rescheduled to Dec. 17

Third annual Wrap & Roll will bring holiday cheer to those in need.

Note: This event was originally scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 10, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

Montclair families in need will once again receive gifts purchased and wrapped by members of the community this holiday season.

The third annual Wrap & Roll will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 17, from 4:30 to 7 p.m., at Charles H. Bullock Elementary School, 55 Washington St., Montclair. The gift wrapping session will be followed by a holiday party.

Members of the Montclair Education Association, the Montclair Principal's Association, the Montclair PTA Council and Montclair Board of Education will purchase gifts, gift cards and make donations to students/families in the district. This year’s effort has been expanded to include members of the Montclair police and fire departments.

Volunteers from the community are invited to join members from these organizations to wrap the gifts and prepare them for delivery.

The students and families receiving gifts will remain anonymous and gifts will be delivered by the district staff member who identified the student or family, explained MEA President Gayl Sheppard.

“The students and/or families ‘in need’ are identified by one or more of the following staff representatives: Student Assistance Counselor, School Social Worker, School Psychologist, Learning Consultant, Guidance Counselor, School Nurse or School Resource Officer,” Sheppard said.
