The United Way Family Success Center in partnership with the Irvington Family Development Center honors graduates from the latest F.E.L.L.A.S program.

On Monday December 10, 2012 Fathers Empowered to Learn, Lead, and Achieve Success, F.E.L.L.A.S. program held its graduation ceremony at the United Way auditorium honoring the dads that completed the fatherhood courses, which utilizes the 24/7 DadTM A.M. and P.M. curricula (from The National Fatherhood Initiative)consisting of twelve two-hour sessions. The F.E.L.L.A.S. Program entails four main components: fatherhood courses, support groups, individualized support, and a community advisory board. The United Way Family Success Center has partnered with the Irvington Family Development Center to present this program since 2010. The sessions are held every Monday from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm at United Way of Northern New Jersey, located at 60 South Fullerton Avenue in Montclair. Males who are fathers, step fathers, and fathers-to-be are invited to participate in a 12-week parenting program that offers expert advice and access to resources that will strengthen their skills as fathers.

United Way is committed to helping children avoid risky behaviors and remain on the right track in order to succeed in school and life.  The FELLAS program is designed to help fathers guide their children in making healthy choices.
