Ever wonder what’s going through your pet’s mind? There are obvious ways that our companion animals tell us how they are feeling; the way your dog greets you at the door when you come home from work because he’s glad to see you or the way your cat paws at you in the morning until you get out of bed to feed her. Sometimes though, especially in the case of the animals that I’m caring for at the animal shelter, I wish they could speak the words to me. Tell me their story. How I can help them. What their needs are beyond the basics. It would certainly make my job a lot easier!
Speaking to animals is exactly what an animal intuitive does. Maybe that notion sounds like fantasy to some people. Today most of us are so far removed from our connections to the earth and the other creatures that inhabit it .We are so absorbed in the world of our gadgets and devices, of our every-day busy buzz. There was a time on this earth that humans were so connected to the plants and the animals that communing with them was natural and came easy. It was the way of life; a way of survival and of mutual respect; it was spirituality and religion.
Some people today are lucky enough to be blessed with the ability to communicate with animals much like our ancestors did. Not so much by speaking actual words but by using different forms of unspoken communication. I’m lucky enough to know one of those people personally, Animal Intuitive, Reiki Master, Author and supporter of the Montclair Township Animal Shelter, Shirl Knobloch.
On Saturday, February 23rd, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Shirl will be in Montclair doing readings from her new book, “Birdsong, Barks and Banter”. Shirl will be discussing Reiki, animal communication, and the spirit/animal realm. Limited aura readings will also be available at that time. Tickets are $10 each and should be purchased in advance at Purrs N Paws Pet Emporium, 547 Valley Road, Montclair, New Jersey 07043, where the reading will be held.
Books will also be available for sale at the event. The event is being hosted by Purrs N Paws and The Friends of Montclair Township Animal Shelter. Proceeds benefit the animals of the Montclair Township Animal Shelter.
