New York Times Critic Rates Brick Lane 'Very Good'

Montclair curry house modeled after those in East London's Indian Row.

Another Montclair restaurant has caught the attention of a New York Times' food critic.

Scott Veale last week wrote up Brick Lane, giving the Indian Restaurant modeled after the curry houses in East London's Indian Row a respectable "Very Good."

The restaurant opened at 540 Valley Road in July 2011 and is now one of five Brick Lane eateries. There's one in Ridgewood; the other three are in the city.

While Veale did not take the Phaal Curry Challenge, Melody Kettle was there for Montclair Patch shortly after Brick Lane opened. Eight heat daredevils attempted to complete a bowl of the super spicy dish.

Have you tried Brick Lane? What did you think?
