Burglar Rides Off With Wallet, Red Jeep

Montclair Police say burglar may have entered house through unlocked door and grabbed car keys while victim was sleeping.

A woman told police a burglar took her wallet and car keys from her kitchen and drove off with her car while she was sleeping.

The burglary on the 200 block of Midland Avenue was reported on Sunday, Sept. 1, at 8:57 a.m., according to Montclair Police Det./Lt. Angel Roman.

The victim said she went to bed at about 9:30 p.m. the night before. In the morning, she realized her wallet and car keys were missing from her purse on the kitchen table, and that her red Jeep Grand Cherokee was taken out of her garage.

Police said the burglar may have entered through an unlocked back door, taken the keys from the purse and used the remote garage door opener to take the car.
