Burglars Make Off With Laptop, Jewelry
Back doors were used in three recent burglaries, Montclair Police say.
A burglar who entered an Undercliff Road home through a back door while the homeowner was upstairs rummaged through drawers and took a laptop, Montclair Police Lt Det. Angel Roman said. The burglary was reported on Oct. 21 at 12:23 a.m. Police said the victim went up to his second floor for about 10 to 15 minutes and when he returned downstairs he found a sliding glass door open. The victim said several kitchen drawers were open and his 18-inch, black Dell laptop was missing. The value of the computer is $1,100. On Oct. 24, a burglary was reported on the 200 block of Glenridge Avenue. The victim said sometime between 7 a.m. and 8:56 p.m. a burglar entered her apartment through a back door that was forced open and ransacked the apartment. Approximately $1,280 worth of jewelry was reported missing. Anyone with information regarding this incident can contact Det. Turner at 973-509-4724.
On Oct. 26, at 5:47 p.m., a burglary was reported on the 100 block of Eagle Rock Way. The victim said someone entered her home through an unlocked back door sometime between 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. The victim told police she went upstairs at 5:45 p.m. and found the master bedroom ransacked.
