Cash, Credit Card Stolen from New York Sports Club Locker

More than a thousand dollars was charged on a stolen credit card, according to local police.

A man working out at the Montclair New York Sports Club left his locker unlocked and had a thief steal $170 in cash and charge $1,069 on a stolen credit card last week, Montclair Police said.

The man came into the township police station on Wednesday to report the theft.

He said his wallet was left in an unlocked locker and he initially believed that $170 in cash was stolen while he worked out Tuesday afternoon.

He later realized, however, that he was also missing a Visa Chase credit card.

Chase notified the victim that the day the card was stolen it was used at a Target store to purchase more than a thousand dollars worth of goods.
