Family Hides During Attempted Home Invasion

Montclair Police Department reported to a home on William Street last week.

Family members hid in a bedroom after hearing someone try and break through the front door of their home on William Street, according to police.

On Nov. 30, a family heard someone walk up to the front door of the home and attempt open it around 6:35 p.m. Frightened, the family members locked themselves in a second-floor bedroom.

The family members reportedly told police that they could hear someone kicking at the door. The person attempting to enter the home was scared off by a barking dog, according to reports.

Montclair police officers noted there was damage done to the front door’s molding.
