Jewelry, Electronics Stolen From Montclair Apartment

Home apparently entered through first floor window which was left unlocked.

Jewelry, a laptop and electronics were reported stolen from a three-story apartment building on Union Street, Montclair Police Det. Lt. Angel Roman said.

A resident said the family left the apartment at about 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, and returned at 4:45 p.m. to find a common door in a hallway which is normally locked left open and unlocked.

A jewelry box kept on a dresser in a bedroom was lying on a bed with the drawers pulled out and emptied. The value of the jewelry was not known.

A Dell laptop, Panasonic video camera and other gaming devices were also reported missing.

Police say it appeared the burglar or burglars entered through a first floor window which had been left unlocked.
