We've heard of egging on Mischief Night or Goosey Night, the evening before Halloween. But apparently some kids have their dates — and their idea of fun — all wrong. On Nov. 30, at 10:20 a.m., Montclair Police responded to a call from a man on North Mountain Avenue who said an egg was thrown at a first floor window of his house, breaking the storm window.
The egging victim said he heard what he thought was a bunch of kids shouting outside his house the night before around 10:15 or 10:30 p.m. Then he said he heard a loud thud against his home and a car drive away.
In the morning, he discovered the egg. The window itself was not damaged.
