Montclair Home Egged Month After Mischief Night

Kids believed to be responsible for vandalism incident.

We've heard of egging on Mischief Night or Goosey Night, the evening before Halloween. But apparently some kids have their dates — and their idea of fun — all wrong.

On Nov. 30, at 10:20 a.m., Montclair Police responded to a call from a man on North Mountain Avenue who said an egg was thrown at a first floor window of his house, breaking the storm window.

The egging victim said he heard what he thought was a bunch of kids shouting outside his house the night before around 10:15 or 10:30 p.m. Then he said he heard a loud thud against his home and a car drive away.

In the morning, he discovered the egg. The window itself was not damaged.
