Montclair Man Arrested for Burglary in Wall Township

Police arrest Shelby L. Williams, 45, for a September burglary.

 

A Montclair man was charged with stealing $100,000 in jewelry and other items from a Bailey’s Corner Road home, according to an arrest warrant.

Shelby L. Williams, 45, was arrested Dec. 31 and charged with third degree burglary and second degree theft in connection with the burglary that happened on Sept. 9, the warrant says.

Williams was charged with breaking into the home and taking a safe that held three antique handguns, assorted jewelry, cash and a 100-ounce silver bar. Another lock box that contained jewelry and documents also was taken. The total haul from the home was $100,000, according to the warrant.

Williams was taken to Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, in lieu of $40,000 bail, according to the warrant.

Williams was not listed as an inmate Thursday, according to jail records.
