Also on Sept. 7, police say tools worth $6,980 were taken from a van on South Fullerton Avenue. A man working at a property there said he had parked his work van in the rear overnight. Finally on Sept. 7, at 8 p.m., a resident on North Willow Street told police she was inside her home when she heard someone trying to start a car. She looked outside and saw two African-American men inside her car. She described them as being between 19 and 20 years old. One had long black dreadlocks and the other had short black hair. Once confronted, she said both men ran north on North Willow. The car's ignition had been damaged and the contents of the car had been rummaged through. Anyone with information about this incident should contact Det. Degrazio at (973) 509-4717.
