Montclair Police Offer Free Gun Locks to Registered Firearm Owners

Gun locks available through Project ChildSafe.

The Montclair Police Department is offering free gun locks to registered gun owners in Montclair.

Those interested in obtaining a free gun lock must call the MPD Records and Identification Bureau at 973-509-4713 prior to picking up the lock at Police Headquarters, 647 Bloomfield Ave. The free gun lock program will continue while supplies last.

The free gun locks are made available through Project ChildSafe, a nationwide program which helps ensure safe and responsible firearms ownership and storage, developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation and supported by a U.S. Department of Justice Grant.
