Newark Teen Dies After Jumping Into Devil's Hole in Cedar Grove
Friends reported victim missing when he didn't resurface.
Cedar Grove Police are investigating the death of an 18-year-old Newark man who died Wednesday night after jumping into an area of the Peckman River known as “Devil’s Hole.”’
Friends called police to report that the victim had not resurfaced after jumping in the water around 8:20 p.m., according to NorthJersey.com.
Members of the Lyndhurst Fire Department Dive Team found the victim 15-feet below the surface more than an hour later, the report said.

The teen was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson where he was pronounced dead.
