Police Warn Residents About Solicitors

If you are uncertain if a solicitor is legitimate, contact Montclair Police.

Montclair Police issued a warning Thursday about reports of possibly sketchy solicitors in town. 

A Nixle emergency alert message said:

Police Tip: Montclair Police received reports of solicitors going to Montclair residences in an attempt to persuade residents to change utility providers. Generally solicitors should be registered and have identification when going door to door in Montclair. If you are uncertain if a person is legitimate, you can always contact Montclair Police or Montclair Clerk’s office for assistance.
