Montclair Police are looking for a man and woman who committed a strong-arm robbery home invasion at a Pine Street apartment Sunday afternoon, Lt. Detective Angel Roman said.

The pair entered the apartment through an unlocked front door around 4 p.m. and threatened the residents and their guests before making off with their valuables, Roman said.

“I’m going to start dropping people,” the man said, motioning to the right side of his waist implying he was carrying a gun, according to the report.

No weapon was ever shown, the report said.

The woman struck one of the residents multiple times near the head, but she was able to block the blows and was unharmed, police said.

A black guitar, brown Coach purse, silver Cuisinart and silver LG cell phone were reported stolen. The items are valued at a total of $1,200.

The man was described as dark-skinned in his mid-30s, about 5-foot-9, medium build, with black dreadlocks past his shoulders and a goatee, wearing a grey sweatshirt, light blue denim jeans, and tan work boots.

The woman was described as dark-skinned in her mid-30s, approximately 5-foot-2, with dark shoulder length hair in curls, and a heavy build. She was wearing a black puffy coat over a black and white shirt, and black pants.

The intruders fled in an older model silver/gray sedan, possibly a Mitsubishi.

There were four other people in the apartment during the home invasion. One of them had a cell phone stolen.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective Lynn McCarthy at 973-509-4725.
