'Savoe' Graffiti Spotted at 2 Montclair Schools

Police report more multiple sightings of graffiti in the last six weeks.

Montclair Township Police say the department is looking into two new and possibly related incidences of vandalism at two local schools.

On July 1, the word "SAVOE” was found spray painted in white letters on the north and west exterior walls of Hillside School at 54 Orange Road just after 8 a.m. According to a department statement, the elementary school's head custodian reported that between the graffiti appeared sometime between June 29 and July 1.  

A few hours later, at about 1:13 p.m., another “SAVOE” sighting was reported at Montclair Community Pre-K at 49 Orange Road, the statement continued.  The school's director told police that between June 26 and July 1, someone spray painted the  in white letters on a shed in the rear of the school property.

On May 28, police reported that the word "STOOGE" was found spray-painted in black in three spots in Montclair. Less than a week later, the word "GLPAR," spray painted in white letters, was seen by police in two places in the township.
