SoCo Shoplifter Returns for Refill

Police make arrest outside Montclair liquor store.

The following arrest information was provided by Montclair Police. The subject is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

A Montclair man allegedly caught on video stealing a bottle of Southern Comfort from a neighborhood liquor store was arrested Saturday, Montclair Police Lt. Det. Angel Roman said.

David Blakely, 23, returned to the Romany Liquor Store around 7:06 p.m. after he had been seen on surveillance video earlier in the month swiping a $27 bottle of booze from shelves, police said.

Described by police as someone who "frequents the store," Blakely was stopped on Bloomfield Avenue just west of the North Fullerton Avenue business.

He was arrested and summonsed pending a court hearing.
