Thieves Assault, Rob Man on Orange Road

Two men wanted for stealing $50 from Newark resident in Montclair's South End early Tuesday morning.

A Newark man was assaulted and robbed while he was walking on Orange Road early Tuesday morning, Montclair Police said.

The 22-year-old victim told officers two men were following him and then struck him from behind, stealing $50 from his pocket and then ran away at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to police.

One of the thieves was described as a light-skinned black male between 20 and 25 years old, about 5-foot-6 and 180 pounds. He was wearing a black skull cap, black sweatshirt, black NorthFace sweatpants and black Nike shoes, according to the report.

The second robber was described as a medium-skinned black man, about 5-foot-11 and 150 pounds. The man was described as having a thin build, short black crew-cut style hair and wearing a dark jacket, blue Mavi jeans and white Air-Force 1 sneakers, according to the report.
