Vandalism, Graffiti and Slashed Tires Reported to Police

The Montclair Police also responded to a car break-in on Franklin Place.

Montclair Police Department reported the following theft from a motor vehicle and vandalism last week. 

Theft

• A Dodge Charger was parked in front of a home on Franklin Place when it was broken into on the evening of Jan. 16. At around 7 a.m. the next day, the owner told police his wallet, containing credit cards and identification, were gone.

Vandalism

• The owner of the building at 133 Grove St., a two-story brick building with commercial businesses on the bottom floor, found the word “sipper” written on a back door on Jan. 14 at around 11 a.m. 

• A man reported someone slashing his tires for a second time this month. 

At around 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 16, the owner found the driver’s side and rear tires of his Honda Accord slashed. The car was parked in the rear of his residence. 

Previously on Jan. 7, the man found the rear passenger side tire of his Accord slashed. 

• Montclair officers found the words “MOLAH” spray painted in blue on the side of a garage at 310 Orange Road while on patrol.
