Montclair Man Says Someone Signed For His Package

Police warn residents to watch out for deliveries during holidays.

A Montclair man said a delivery he was expecting may have been swiped by someone who forged his signature, according to Montclair Police Lt./Det. Angel Roman.

The Church Street resident told police he ordered a virtual keyboard from Brookstone, which was to be delivered by UPS. When he tracked the purchase online, he learned the box was supposedly delivered and signed for on Nov. 26, at 3:17 p.m.

The victim called the retailer to let them know he never received the package. He reported the incident to police on the morning of Nov. 27.

Residents should not leave packages at front doors or on porches, especially during the holidays, Roman said.

“Make an effort to be home when they are delivered,” he said.
