Jeh Johnson Sails Through DHS Secretary Confirmation Hearing

Former Montclair resident has support of both Senate Democrats and Republicans.

A former Montclair resident is all but certain to be confirmed as the next Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Politico reported following Wednesday's confirmation hearing

Jeh Johnson, formerly the Department of Defense’s top lawyer and a major fundraiser for Obama's 2008 presidential campaign, faces opposition from two Republican senators, Sen. John McCain of Arizona and Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, who has promised to block the nomination, Politico reported.

In the C-Span video above, watch Johnson and McCain clash on a border security question.

If confirmed, Johnson would become the fourth secretary of the DHS, replacing Secretary Janet Napolitano.
