A financial audit report presented to the Board of Education on Monday by Nisivoccia LLC, a certified public accounting firm, found that the district will close the year with a surplus of $13.9 million. 

Bloomfield Doctor Found Not Guilty of Sexually Abusing 12 Female Patients

A Bloomfield doctor accused of sexually assaulting multiple female patients -- including one from Montcliar -- was found not guilty by an Essex County Superior Court judge on Friday. 

The overall crime rate in Montclair rose about 5 percent in 2011 compared to 2010, according to a state report. 

Power tools and equipment were stolen in two separate burglaries this week in Montclair, according to police.

District Announces School Make-Up Days From Hurricane Sandy

The Montclair District will add school days in the coming months to make up for closures during Hurricane Sandy.

New Year Will Bring Two New Middle School Principals

Two Montclair middle schools will have new principals to begin the new year.  

The Board of Education of Montclair unanimously appointed Jill Sack as principal of Mt. Hebron Middle School, and Barbara Weller as principal of Renaissance Middle School at Rand. Both will begin their tenure on Jan. 2, 2013.
