Montclair NAACP to Honor Mayor Jackson

Mayor to be presented with 2013 Thurgood Marshall Award.

The Montclair Branch of the NAACP will present the 2013 Thurgood Marshall Award to Mayor Robert D. Jackson.

The award will be presented at the 97th annual fundraiser of the Montclair NAACP on Friday, Nov. 8, at 6:30 p.m., at the Wilshire Grand Hotel in West Orange.

"Rarely does an award recipient demonstrate the type of extraordinary leadership as that of Mayor Jackson," said Montclair NAACP President Thomas Reynolds. “Mayor Jackson is the first Montclair mayor to serve the Township of Montclair twice since the Faulkner Act was implemented in 1980s."
