27 Computers Stolen from Nishuane School
More than two dozen computers were stolen from Nishuane Elementary School soon after Hurricane Sandy rolled through town.
Between Oct. 30 and 31, someone broke into Nishuane School and stole 27 iMac computers valued at $27,000, according to the Montclair School District. The school was one of many that had its power knocked out by the storm.
Woman Carjacked Monday Morning
A man carjacked a vehicle in broad daylight on Nov. 26 and led Montclair police on a chase before escaping into Glen Ridge.
Around 10 a.m. that day, a woman had left her car running -- a 2009 maroon Infinity FX35 -- while she filled her tires with air at the the Exxon gas station, at 264 Bloomfield Ave, according to police reports. Suddenly, a man jumped into the driver’s seat and began to drive away, police said.
5 Burglaries Reported During Power Outages
While much of Montclair remained without power after Hurricane Sandy, there was a series of home burglaries.
