Orange Road Water Main Project Will Shut Down Service

What you need to know about project scheduled to start this week.

The Montclair Utilities Department will begin installing a new water main on Orange Road this week, township officials recently announced.

The area affected will be Orange Road from Pleasant Way to the township line past Brooklawn Road. The goal of the water main replacement is to increase the flow capacity, fire flows and help increase water quality.

The new water main and fire hydrants will be installed, connected to the water system, chlorinated, and, once approved, each home will be attached to the new main before the existing main is abandoned.
