Township Given Green Light to Dissolve Parking Authority

The Township of Montclair is one step closer to disbanding its Parking Authority after a state board voted this week to approve dissolving the authority.

The Department of Community Affairs’ Local Finance Board voted unanimously Wednesday to approve the liquidation of the township’s parking authority, said spokeswoman Lisa Ryan.

Local stores responded to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's expanded voluntary recall of nut butter products by removing all products possibly contaminated with salmonella from store shelves. 

The Sunland Inc. recall has more than doubled to over 240 products over the last week, in response to a "fast-moving outbreak" of salmonella in 19 states.

 

Republican Hopeful Frelinghuysen Comes to Nutley

Rodney Frelinghuysen, the longtime Republican congressman for the 11th District, met with local party activists and supporters Wednesday in Nutley, where he spoke cordially about President Obama but still drew sharp distinctions with him on health care, foreign policy and other issues.

 

New Trader Joe's Coming (Closer) to Montclair

Montclair fans of Trader Joe's have long been hoping for a store in town, but Clifton is a start. 

According to the Trader Joe's website, a new store will open at 259 Allwood Road in Clifton on Friday, Nov. 16. The store will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week and will not sell alcohol.

 

Montclair Cooperative To Celebrate Bookapalooza 2012!

The Montclair Cooperative School is celebrating literacy with Bookapalooza! 2012, which begins the week of Oct. 22. This annual book fair, which is open to the community, exemplifies much of what the Co-op is all about: creativity, challenge, digging deep into study, giving back, and connecting with and understanding our communities.
