Winter Weather Advisory in Effect, No Parking on Streets

Storm expected to produce 2 to 4 inches in Montclair.

From the Township of Montclair:

A winter weather advisory is still effect for our area from 6 p.m. Sunday through noon Monday, with forecasts for snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches.

Township Ordinance 327-25 will be in effect to facilitate snow removal on public streets: parking on public streets during a snow event is prohibited. In addition, vehicles may not be parked in such as way that they extend into the roadway when it snows.

The parking prohibition remains in effect after the snowfall has stopped and until the entire block of roadway has been cleared of snow.

Daily overnight parking permits may not be used when streets are snow covered. The ordinance also applies to metered parking areas during the hours of 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.

Vehicles with handicapped placards/plates remain legally parked, however these vehicles may not be parked in the same location for more than 24 hours. If at all possible, other parking arrangements should be made to keep the streets clear for plowing.

Parking restrictions for vehicles with "S" permits—tonight, Sunday, March 2 park on the South and West sides of the street.

Parking is prohibited on streets where snow accumulations have narrowed the roadway. This prohibition applies to Forest Street and North Fullerton Avenue.
Residents with "S" permits may not park on North Fullerton Avenue or on Forest Street.

Off-street parking will be available at the Fullerton Deck.
