Assault At Montclair State University
Two people report being assaulted by three white males outside Einstein Hall.
The following notice was sent out this past weekend to Montclair State University's community members from Chief Paul M. Cell at the Montclair State University Police Department.
Community Members:
On 9/23/12 at 1:40am, the University Police received a report of a fight in progress at Dinallo Heights outside of Einstein Hall. When officers arrived the physical altercation had ended and two individuals were treated at the scene.

These individuals reported that they were speaking to three white males (described below) who were unknown to them. Through extensive interviews it was determined that the three males approached the two individuals and attempted to sell narcotics to them. The two individuals refused and attempted to walk away from the area. The two individuals reported they were then assaulted by the three white males and one of the two individuals sustained injuries to the face. The three males then fled the area in an unknown direction.
Two of the males being sought are described as white males, ages 18 to 25, of a slim build wearing grey shirts and jeans. The other male being sought is described as a white male of a heavy build, age 18-25 wearing a short sleeve white shirt and blue jeans.

The University Police is actively investigating this matter and is asking any community member with information on this incident or who may have witnessed any or part of this incident to come forward with information. Information may be given through the University Police main number 973-655-5222, through the confidential TIPS phone number of 973-655-8477 (or ext. 8477 on campus) or via the text eTIPS program by dialing 67283 from their cellular device and include the word E-TIPS before typing their message.
