Jr. Baseball, Softball Sign-Up Deadline Extended

Registrations will be taken after Feb 28, but a $25 late fee will apply.

 

The registration deadline for Montclair Junior Baseball and Softball leagues has been extended until Thursday, Feb. 28.

The program offers baseball for boys and girls in grades 3 and 4, and grades 5 and 6. New this season is the middle school baseball program for boys and girls in grades 7 and 8 only.

There will also be girls softball for grades 3 through 5 and grades 6 through 8.

Teams will be formed by school. Each school will play a full schedule against other Montclair schools and nearby districts. They will be part of the Babe Ruth baseball league.

Online registration can be done by going to the Community Pass program.

If you have not yet registered online, visit register.communitypass.net and click on the "Create your account now!" link. Once you register, you will be able to select baseball/softball before proceeding to the credit card payment portal.

Walk-in registrations are also accepted at the Recreation Department, at 205 Claremont Ave., Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

The fees for all recreation programs are: $120 per child for up to two children, $300 for three and $360 for four or more children (of the same family).

All children must attend a Montclair school in order to participate.

Gloves and rubber cleats are required to play for all participants, uniforms will be issued.

All games and practices will be held weeknights at 6 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 9 or 11 a.m.

Volunteer Coaches are Needed

The Montclair baseball and softball league is currently seeking coaches. Experience is not necessary, and training will be provided. All coaches must be certified and have background checks in order to coach.

The season runs from late April through late June.
