Montclair Schools Hold Third Annual Family Night

Founder: "The idea is to get the whole family to the dinner table at the same time."

Montclair Public Schools will hold a districtwide “Family Night" for the third year on Wednesday.

One month into the school year, teachers throughout the district will not assign homework, and there will be no after-school events or activities, so that families can spend some quality time together.

Former Bullock Parent-Teacher Association President Mary Emanuelli proposed the idea to the PTA Council two years ago.

“Hopefully, by having a designated family dinner night, with the support of the school district, it will relieve some of the after-school and evening obligations so families can all eat together,” she said at the inception.
