Montclair State University will create 1,500 new construction and support jobs with the construction of two new buildings, according to university officials.
MSU President Susan Cole will lead a ceremonial groundbreaking on the campus on Wednesday morning, signaling the start of the $121 million project.
The two buildings include a new Center of Environmental and Life Sciences and a School of Business.
The project is partially funded by $94 million in state-funding awarded to the school in April. MSU received the most of any senior public or private institution from the $750-million “Building Our Future” Bond Act which was approved by voters in November.
The buildings are slated to be completed in spring of 2015.
