On Tuesday June 10, a group of Montclair High School seniors and three Montclair coaches will take part in the 21st Annual Paul Robeson Classic.
MHS players include: defensive backs Zach Jones and Ibn Wallace, kicker/receiver Will Kline, linebacker Rae Oliver, wide receivers Kenny Rosario and Donovan McDonald and offensive linemen James Geathers and Mike Giles. Immaculate Conception’s wide receiver Melvin Taylor will also take part.
The boys will play for the East, along with other players from Essex County and Paterson, against the West, a team made up of players from Morris, Sussex and Passaic counties.
Montclair High School’s Head Football Coach John Fiore will join the classic’s coaching staff in addition to Montclair’s Rae Oliver and Eugene Kline.
"It was an honor to be chosen to play in this game, especially after I've seen so many great seniors in years ahead of me play in it,” said Senior Will Kline. “Getting the chance to play with such a large group of Mounties while being coached by the Mountie coaching staff just makes it that much more exciting."
The game will take place on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Paul Robeson Stadium in East Orange.
Note - The game was originally scheduled for Monday, but was postponed due to weather conditions.
